Four-Year Commitment Includes Mentoring and Training for STEM Careers

Miami, October, 2013 — Providing new evidence of its commitment to continuing STEM education, AAR Corp. (NYSE: AIR) pledged a $250,000 gift to Overtown Youth Center in Miami. The donation is part of a new, four-year partnership with the youth center to create project-based learning activities sparking students’ interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM).

The program is currently in development and could include internship opportunities for the center’s college-bound high school students and ongoing initiatives during their college years.

“AAR has taken a leadership role in actively engaging students and introducing them to all types of aviation career opportunities,” said Pastor Lopez, Vice President and General Manager, AAR Landing Gear Services. “The partnership with OYC is an important part of AAR’s long-term commitment to the Miami-Dade community.”

In 2012, AAR was recognized as “Corporate Business of the Year” from the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce for its public-private partnerships with the Chamber and City Year Miami to mentor at-risk high school students and introduce them to a range of careers in aviation.
