26 Aug H2OMBRE’s Splash Surprise at Overtown Youth Center
The children of Overtown Youth Center’s after school program received a splashy surprise this week from the performers of Adrienne Arsht Center’s summer smash hit, H2OMBRE. Decked out in their costumes, including one of the water suits used during performances to shoot more than 6,000 gallons of water, the performers surprised the children while they were working on their ongoing garden project. Together, the performers and children planted new fruit and vegetable seeds and plants donated by the Arsht Center, which is an integral part of the Overtown Youth Center’s comprehensive STEM education program. Since its foundation in 2003, the Overtown Youth Center has provided academic and recreational programming designed to inspire and empower local children and families.
