YPN

Overtown Young Professionals (OYP) is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. OYP exists to empower future leaders of our community to engage, connect and support the mission of the Overtown Youth Center. OYP members will serve as ambassadors to raise awareness about the transformational programs that provide youth and families the support necessary to bridge educational, social, emotional and opportunity gaps that exists in urban communities.

OYP members will create a movement to:

INSPIRE other young professionals to “become a part of the change they want to see in this world” ~ Mathma Ghandi

EMPOWER other young professionals to utilize their time, talents or treasures to ensure long term sustainability of programs that provide children with a fighting chance to succeed in school and in life….

INSPIRE young professionals to move the needle of change for social services impacting youth and families

OYP members will enjoy networking opportunities, invites to exclusive events, engage with distinguished members of the community, and engage in opportunities to make a direct impact in someone’s life.

Mission

Continuing on the legacy of the OYC to build the relationships, community and wellness of our board, members, and community. The mission of the Young Professionals Network will be to build relationships and raise funds to directly impact the students and families of Overtown and provide powerful, positive young mentors for the community.

Vision

The YPN vision is to build capital and create a culture for young professionals to give back to the community of Overtown and share in the bond of mentoring young boys and girls towards a better and brighter future. Each day is a blessing and we are happy that our members can help provide the light project the right paths for the next generation to embark on.

Positioning

The positions of the YPN is to leverage the talents and connections of the board and its members to build programs and execute the mission and vision of the organization. The YPN will position itself to run sufficiently while also serving the guidance and direction of the Overtown Youth Center and its Board.
