OYC was excited to host its first overnight Family Camping Trip Experience in September. This experience was made possible through the funding support of The Children’s Trust. The concept of the camping trip experience evolved based on data collected through surveys and family focus groups to better understand the impact of gentrification in our community and how families can create positive family history, build intergenerational reconnection, and leverage their experiences to ensure that they can confidently live, work, and play in their rapidly changing communities. During the Family Camping Trip, families came together and shared a weekend of intergenerational activities focused on family bonding, financial wellness, civic engagement, cultural diversity, mind-body wellness, and entrepreneurship. We would like to thank our partners, sponsors, and vendors for this event which included The Children’s Trust, SynergyDx, IlCucciao Catering, Magical Photos, Chase Bank, Vote the Future, Jitter Flix, Miami Dade Parks and Recreation, and SCORE Broward.
