Families and communities are essential components of students’ lives, imagination and academic success. On October 28^th we hosted our first of many, Family Story Time event, where students and their families joined staff and volunteers for the reading of “The Spooky Wheels on the Bus” by J. Elizabeth Mills. During the event families interacted with one another to discuss the book’s theme; characters, how they related to the characters in the book and what they learned in general from the story.  Families also benefitted from a book giveaway, refreshing snacks and access to resources for the entire family. This event was a huge success, and we look forward to the lineup of more reading sessions in the coming months.
