11 Jan Bridging the Gap Through Technology
Our community partner, Overtown Children & Youth Coalition (OCYC) donated laptops to 11 of our Overtown Youth Center and Honey Shine Inc. students, grades kindergarten through 2nd grade. Students were pleasantly surprised when they learned they would be participating in a STEM activity where they would build the laptops they were being gifted! This exercise was a task for building focus, patience, coordination and uplifting their general learning of tech! In addition, students will learn how to code through this partnership.
Thank you OCYC for empowering children to reach their full potential and for being the catalyst to convene, network, leverage, scale and impact change in our community. This generous donation will help bridge the digital divide and enable students to excel in their school academics and help them improve their overall well-being.
