10 May Shantae Whyte Memorial
We are deeply saddened, to have lost a member of the Overtown Youth Center staff and family; Shantae Whyte. Shantae was a beloved daughter, sister, friend and mentor who was also our amazingly talented Dance Instructor.
Shantae initially joined the Overtown Youth Center as an intern while studying at New World School of the Arts. Shantae soon became a part of our family, as her unrelenting passion to making her students shine, fueled her commitment to our program. As a gifted dancer and choreographer, Shantae brought out the talent that lived inside our kids. Shantae’s love for dance, effervescent personality and gracious spirit will forever remain a part of the Overtown Youth Center family. Although, Shantae is gone… she will never be forgotten.
